What is a domain name?
A domain name is a custom name on the Internet. It allows Internet users to find your website via Domain Name System (DNS). An example of a domain name is axac.com (without "www."). All domain names are unique.
Who owns the domain name?
The Registrant (a person or organization) of a domain name in the "WhoIs" record owns the domain name. The Registrant has the exclusive right to use the domain name for a specified period of time. The Registrant also has the control over the domain, per the terms and conditions of the Registration Agreement. The "use" of a domain name can be renewed, as long as the Registrant does not violate any terms of the Registration Agreement, including but not limited to Trademark infringement.
How to find out if a domain name is available?
To find out the availability of a domain name, you have to use the WHOIS function to check. Enter the domain name e.g. axac.com (without "www.") into the box provided for whois search. If it is NOT available, the whois function will show you the Registrant, date of creation and expiry of the domain name and other related information. NOTE: "Not Found", "No Match" do not mean that the domain name is available. It may be in the process of being registered in another part of the world when you did the WHOIS check. The only confirmation of availability is usually at the point of registration.
What is a valid domain name?
A valid domain name is made up of between 2 to 67 characters. It may contain letters and numbers. Hyphens (-) may also be used, but may not be at the beginning or end of your domain name. Spaces and special characters, such as question marks (?), exclamation points (!), and underscores (_) are not allowed in domain names.

.SG Domains
| .SG Bundled Discount Scheme (BOGOF) |
When you register for a 3rd level .sg domain (except for .per.sg and .gov.sg), you will be eligible to register any 2nd level .sg domain, if available, at no charge for the 1st year, i.e. you only pay for the 3rd level .sg domain.
If you do not wish to keep the 2nd level .sg domain after 1 year, you can choose not to renew. The scheme will run according to the registrar's promotion period.
Registration Rules
- Both 3rd and 2nd level names are to be registered by the same applicant.
- Both 3rd and 2nd level names are to be registered at the same time.
- Both 3rd and 2nd level names must be available for registration in order to qualify for the BOGOF scheme.
- The BOGOF scheme is only applicable for the 1st year of registration. If you want to register for 2 years term, the 2nd year registration fees will be charged.
- The domain extensions of .per.sg and .gov.sg are excluded from this scheme.

- A foreign company which is not registered in Singapore may apply for domain name in this category if it has an agent in Singapore, or may request aXac solutions to act as such agent. The foreign company is required to duly authorized the agent in writing to apply for the registration of the domain name.
